Details:
There is currently extremely low level auroras going on as viewed from Middleton WI. Very challenging observation conditions: (1) they are too low from lower Wisconsin, you will need a super horizon (2) and too faint, invisible to the unaided eye; (3) clouds are rolling in and already blocked the northern sky at the moment. In the photo you may be able to barely see some red color over some green color, just above the horizon near the center (slightly to the left) -- that's the aurora borealis. One telltale sign is the green aurora back-lit dark clouds over the horizon. All other lights were local light pollution. Photo taken with an iPhone 12 long exposure.
