Details:
Just for fun, after routine imaging with Eon 72, 2.5" Baader, orange filter, 12 mm Plossl, and iPhone 6s, I played with the contrast settings. Sunspots are not BLACK, but umbra still about 4,300 K hot, like orange K class Arcturus. Found some subtle color (and temperature?) variations I have never noted before in this closeup. Last two shots are with Lunt 60, B 1200 Ha diagonal, 12mm Plossl, iPhone 6s. Note short exposure on last shot shows flaring around this active unstable pair.
