I would like to call this post the “Red Symphony” due to large volume of red pillars, curtains, coronas, beside the greens, purples, yellows and pinks. The first G2 storm of the new Solar Cycle #25 was an incredible development in structures and colors. After the second sub-storm of the night which was past midnight, the Aurora slowed down and entered the pulsing and flickering mode. My thoughts at the time were to pack my gear and head home. I am glad that I did not because around 4:30 am, we got the third most powerful sub-storm of the night. The sky literally exploded with pillars, curtains and coronas all over the sky. I was intrigue and surprised to notice so much red on both cameras I was running. Definitely this was one of the most intense displays I witness in a very long time, most likely in top 5 for sure. Can’t imagine what we would see as we go deep into the Solar Cycle 25.
