Details:
The "mysterious" object in the SOHO LASCO C3 view now is the planet Mercury (The Winged Messenger). It is currently moving swiftly in retrograde motion towards inferior conjunction with the sun on October 9, 2021, at 16UT. It will pass 1.9° south of the sun.
