Details:
I got really lucky twice today and spotted a halo around the sun for the third day consecutively. Later in the day, I spotted this “fuel on water” type rainbow effect in the high altitude clouds about 15 minutes before 5pm CST. The effect lasted all of five minutes, but unlike two days ago, I had my phone on me to document it. These photos are untouched in any way. They do not really capture the full vibrance and nuance of color that was easily apparent to my eyes. If you download the photos and increase the saturation and vibrance, they will become more readily apparent. Photographed on an iPhone 11 Pro.
