Details:
Early on Monday morning (20th) the almost Full Harvest Moon was observed setting behind Chikanga West township as shown in the accompanying images and x50 speed time-lapse animation. This consists of sixty-four consecutive 1.3 second exposures taken between 5.16 and 5.23 am. The landscape rapidly brightens as dawn approaches and thin smoke haze from dry season burning makes the Moon change colour and almost fade from view before disappearing below the horizon. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in manual exposure mode.
