Details:
This image of the rising Andromeda Galaxy was captured from Kolkata (Bortle 8/9). Due to the severe light pollution in the metro city, I had to allow the galaxy to rise around 20 degrees from the horizon to be able to capture it. I had to choose a lower vantage point to bring the foreground into the frame. Such deepscape images are a good reminder for us about the apparent sizes of different deep sky objects which are not visible with naked eyes. Even at 100mm focal length, Andromeda appears pretty large and its apparent diameter is around 6 times that of a full moon in the night sky.
