Details:
The Earthgrazer meteor reported in yesterday’s post (upload id=177307) has turned out to be re-entry of the upper stage of a Chinese Yuanzheng YZ-1S rocket being deorbited. Good explanations at https://www.thesouthafrican.com/lifestyle/breaking-south-africa-meteor-shower-bolide-chinese-rocket-deorbited-latest-update. Here are some enlargements of the previously presented time-lapse sequence and images. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in night scenery mode. The photographs are 4 second exposures except for one in which the trail is short when the shutter opened for half a second.
