Details:
Two days after the very thin Young Moon was observed setting three quarters of an hour after sunset, a pairing between Regulus and Mercury was captured descending towards the horizon in the fading sunset twilight at about the same time with Mercury setting at 6.02 pm. Regulus was not visible to the naked eye and Mercury only became visible for a couple of minutes before setting. Very careful exposures were required using night scenery settings to reduce the amount of red post-sunset glare to enable them to show up in the accompanying images. Camera: Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in night scenery mode.
