Details:
The sky and the environment from Teide Observatory (IAC, Tenerife, Canary Islands). Obtained from the highest place of the Observatory shows its skyline with the solar towers on the left (Gregor, VTT and Themis), robotic telescopes in the center of the image and on the right the tower for sky quality observation and the dome of ESA 1 m OGS telescope. On the lower right is the volcanic cone of Teide, the highest mountain in Spain at 3,718 m. The Milky Way arches in the sky showing its structure and numerous reddish emission nebulae. Green airglow is also visible, especially in the sky closer to the horizon. The image is obtained from 22 individual photos taken sequentially on a static tripod with a rectangular fisheye lens. The images were then assembled to produce this stereographic "mini-world" projection, which captures the entire environment.
