Details:
Capella, the brightest star in the constellation Auriga reaches it’s lowest and most northerly point in the sky on July 1st at 12:00 am local time. At only 5° above the horizon from Hornby Island, BC, Canada the star Capella crosses it’s lowest point of the meridian today at midnight. One half year from now Capella reaches it’s highest point in the sky of 86° at almost zenith from a latitude of 50° here in Canada. It has been fun to watch this simple alignment like the hands of a grand stellar clock.
