Details:
Being the northernmost municipality of Finland, today Utsjoki would be the place with the biggest coverage of the sun: 50.6% to be precise at the maximum of the eclipse. The weather was terrible all day and the forecast didn't predict anything promising to say the least. It was even slightly raining during most of the eclipse. And then suddenly at 2:09 PM local time, so 3 minutes after maximum, the sky cleared just enough to let us see a beautiful crescent of the sun. It took me 1 minute to get my settings in order, and voilĂ , I present to you this image of the solar eclipse in the northernmost of Finland. Now, back to observing the beautiful Midnight Sun until end July, and Auroras starting in late August! Have a lovely summer everyone!
