Details:
A bright aurora on the night of April 11-12 was accompanied by a Stable Auroral Red (SAR) arc that spanned the sky from northwest to northeast, crossing the Milky Way on its east side. While the aurora was bright but not particularly unusual, long exposures (here, 3 minutes) revealed a red-toned sky above the green aurora, with the SAR arc higher above. The red colours were not visible to the eye.
