That was a little observation challenge tonight, but the planning since yesterday worked and the weather played along too!
The evening visibility of Venus has begun! Deep in the west in the broad, orange-colored fringing of twilight, the sister planet of earth appeared together with Mercury (above right) just above the horizon! The brightness of Venus is currently minimal: - 3.9 mag, Mercury was significantly weaker with + 1.2 mag. Height of Venus: 0.7 °, height of Mercury: + 1.2 °!
Without assistance (Zeiss binoculars 8 x 30) it would hardly have been possible to find the two inner planets! But then it got easier and easier. To make the planets more visible, I cropped to 320 mm equivalent focal length.
