Bright Type 1a Supernova 2021hiz.
April 14th 2021 2200 UT
This supernova was discovered on March 30th in IC3322A a faint galaxy around mag +14. Part of the Virgo group of galaxies IC3322A is surrounded by many other galaxies, the faintest visible being around mag+17,more easily seen in the inverted image.
Type 1a supernova occur in binary systems where one star is a white dwarf. IC3322A is thought to be 80million light years from us.
The pic is a stack of only 10 x 300sec subs.
