Details:
Comet Hyakutake (C/1996 B6) was an awe-inspiring sight from the dark country sky just north of Carrollton, Missouri, on the morning of March 26th, 1996. This image was made with a 24mm Nikkor lens on an old Nikkormat FT-n body loaded with Fuji Super G 400 film. It was so cold that morning (8 degrees F.), the film thought it was in a cold camera! I converted the scanned color image to filtered B&W to bring out the ion/plasma tail. Note the camera body light leak at top center. This was the last time I ever used the FT-n body!
