Details:
The Autumn Equinox in the Southern Hemisphere falls at 09.37 UTC (11.37 am in Mutare) on Saturday 20th March 2021. This is the day on which there is (almost) equal length of daylight and darkness worldwide. Photographs taken from my location in Murambi East of the Sun setting yesterday (19th March) at 5.46 pm (18 hours before equinox) show that it disappeared behind the summit of Murahwa Mountain at exactly the same location as the Very Thin Young Moon (18 hours after new) did at 6.42 pm on the 14th of March! Although no special significance can be attached to this, it is an amazing coincidence! Camera: Hand-held and tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS40 in sunset mode.
