While out last night trying to capture the Aurora during the breaks in the cloud, which were short lived - I lost interest and decided to take a photo of something I couldn't see but knew was there. Known as the Gegenschein or counterglow, it is really faint patch of light at the antisolar point from the viewer's perspective, and is merely the extension of the Zodiacal light which I captured late yesterday evening.
Can you spot it ? look towards the center of the picture and it is just to the right at a 45 degree angle, extremely faint.
