Details:
The auroral activity was low this evening but I could see an obvious glow to the north. I ventured down to the river as most of the snow was gone due to an early thaw. The ice shelves on the banks of the Rainy River were incredibly treacherous and slippery from the melting snow runoff and were sloped towards open water. I used my camera tripod as a walking stick for stability. The things we do for our photography passion! I noticed a reddish diffuse aurora in the photos to the west of the main auroral display that almost looked like a red STEVE. Photos taken with a Canon 6D, 20mm Sigma ART lens at various settings.
