Just after midnight I was feeding our outdoor woodstove when I recognized the long narrow band of STEVE overhead. Dr. Tony Phillips had just mentioned that STEVE occurred more often near the Equinoxes and there it was! The display lasted about 45 minutes while a defuse green aurora was to the northeast.
