Details:
What a night! We first observed auroras around 7.30 PM local time, at the end of the blue hour. Then nothing for hours, and even worse, snow started falling! With the Bz predicted to turn negative within an hour, and the faster solar wind speed, I decided to give a try to beat the clouds and drove off with my guest. And it paid off! Soon after the Bz value dipped to minus, Auroras filled the sky and painted streaks of green and pink for almost 45 minutes. We even saw several pink fringes! Oh, and can you spot Mars and the Pleiades on the first image, when the northern lights were still weaker?
