Details:
I had gone out to chase aurora for the night but with no particular plan other than direction of travel. I stopped at a favorite location to do a visual 'check' using my camera and ended up working on a few compositions as the aurora moved on the horizon. During a quick shoulder check in between exposures I noticed the telltale band of light arcing across the sky and recomposed my camera to take these shots. The bright moonlight did wash things out a bit, but as always it was great to see STEVE in the sky.
