Details:
Here is a close up of the Palus Epidemiarum region. Near the center of the image, the strange, 7 km concentric crater Marth lies on the basalt plain. Companus and Mercator angle across the northern margin of Palus Epidemiarum. Ramsden with its rilles dominates the lower left margin of Epidemiarum. Capuanus lies to the lower right with scalloped ridges angling accusingly in the direction of Mare Humorum which is just visible on the extreme upper left of the image. On the upper right, lava filled Kies is partly visible with it's associated dome, Kies Pi to its left.
