Details:
Setting sunlight on Sunday afternoon (27th) illuminated the summit of a distant cumulonimbus formation which was developing a pileus cap under thin layers of thin higher cloud to produce spectacular 10 minute pareidolic display in which both pileus and surrounding clouds developed brightly coloured iridescence and a variety of strange creature-like shapes (pareidolia). These included, as shown in the accompanying mosaics, birds, a mushroom and at one point an uncanny Jupiter like great red spot! Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS40 in scenery and sunset modes with up to x60 zoom magnification.
