Details:
The sky was perfect and the night mild for a December evening, for a wonderful view of the close conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn on December 20. These views are from Dinosaur Provincial Park, Alberta, with wide and close-up images, including a "conjunction selfie." The planets were 8 arc minutes apart but were easily resolvable to the naked eye, but you had to know what to look for. It was easy to miss seeing Saturn in a casual glance.
