Details:
I imaged from my backyard observatory in Manorville, NY USA. a SpaceX Double Dragon docked to the International Space Station on 12-19-20. Crew-1 Dragon was manned by 4 astronauts. The CRS-21 Cargo Dragon is the first automated docking for a SpaceX cargo resupply mission and will spend about one month attached to the Harmony Node 2 Module attached on the none Earth facing side. The Sun rises and sets lower in the winter months to make it that much more challenging for imaging the ISS. So as of now a lot on the ISS passes will be in Earther's shadow. I got very lucky in this S/W to N/E 64° pass with the Sun at only altitude -6.1° time 06:39am EST. It was very bright out and made for me imaging the ISS that much more complicating. I hope to get a much sharper image before it undocks with in its short one month stay. I know this is not the sharpest ISS image as you can see dew to all the above reasons. With that said you can still see SpaceX Crew-1 Dragon and SpaceX CRS-21 Cargo Dragon illuminated by the sunlight. My imaging configuration was an OTA Edge HD 14 ′′ telescope with an Astrodon Red filter on a ZWO ASI1 74MMM (mono) camera and a TeleVue 2X barlow lens. All on a custom built Orion EQ-G mount and custom software. Kind Regards To ALL. To see more of my images go to > https://www.facebook.com/philip.smith.5686
