In this gif and image Comet 11P/Tempel-Swift-LINEAR is magnitude 17 and 53 million miles from Earth. 11P was at perihelion in its 5.95 year orbit on November 26, 2020 when it brightened to about magnitude 14. The comets tail appears to be starting to swing into view to the east of the nucleus. The gif is a collection of 10 images each 90 seconds long that shows 30 minutes in the life of Comet 11P from 0201-0231UT. Comet 11P was moving 0.67 degrees per day across Earths sky. The images in the gif were collected with an 11" SCT f/6.4 and STF-8300M CCD Camera, the FOV is 15'x15' with 1.24" per pixel. These gifs and images will show their correct resolution (look a lot better) if you select the bigger image.
