Details:
Comet P/2020 U1 (Lemmon) is the recovered Comet P/2013 TL117 (Lemmon). It has joined the Periodic Comet list as 405P/Lemmon. Comet 405P/Lemmon fragmented in November, the brighter magnitude 17.5 fragment is above the dimmer fuzzy fragment in these images. Comet Lemmon was 46 million miles from Earth. The Gif is 6 images each 120 seconds long collected from 0831-0843UT with an 11" SCT f/6.4 and STF-8300M CCD Camera. The FOV is 15'x15' and 1.24"/pixel. Comet Lemmon will reach perihelion in its 6.86 year orbit on Christmas Eve, December 24. I want to tell Apollo Lasky that I had a good chuckle about his Gigglebits. Very nice.
