Details:
With an even slower solar wind and half the proton density, I guess it was expected that the red layer would vastly faint. It was still there, but not as pronounced at the previous 2 nights. During the day we had our first snow of the new winter season here in Utsjoki in the north of Finnish Lapland. I am hoping now for more frequent clear and dry (and cold!) nights, so that I can continue sharing the beautiful northern lights on this site! And who knows, maybe the red will come back later.
