Details:
On Thursday 1st October the first Full Moon of October was observed rising through smoke haze over Cecil Kop Nature Reserve (the second Full Moon will be on the 31st). The haze was so thick that the Moon was very dim and magenta in colour as it became visible a short distance above the horizon but quickly turned brighter red, orange and yellow as it climbed higher in the sky. Thursday’s Moonrise location and path were very similar to that of a smoke-hazed Sunrise three days earlier. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode.
