Citizen Astrononmy. Ye olde LX3. Reviewing some images, I noticed the one for today. This is part of Mare Imbrium - in a region were not all moon-geographers seems to agree regarding Imbrium boundaries. Nearby to East of lunar Apennines´ area. You could see at the lower east part, a portion of Mare Serenitatis and Mare Imbrium (to the south-west). The Lunar Apennines overlook from Eratosthenes crater on the south side, to just about the crater Aristillus, give or take. The area of interest is on the east side of Apennines. (Between mare Serenitatis and Mare Vaporum, you could say). There, to the East of crater Conon or the Apennines highest tops. You can notice a circular area where you will find inside a sizable round and shadier area. It is possible that this circular area could be related to the Mare Imbrium´s collision? As off today, I do not know if material ejected or products, from that impact, has been ever found on the Apennine’s region. On this picture a white border line figure helps you to find this curious circular-like location. It resembles what I could know as “vast downtown city-square, or park” from the air on every country (as could be seen from a plane). That place where we spent free time accompanied by our toddlers, friends and the dog and chicken-wings on the fire. That was the first thing I came to thing off. It´s shape is intriguing. Same material from collision covering the Mare Imbrium surface, cover this lunar area but with a “rounded-shape-like” pattern?. At least captivating? I guess…
