Details:
On Saturday 15th August the Waning Crescent Moon (20% illuminated) and Venus were observed from pre-dawn until half-an-hour before sunrise. In the first photograph the red giant Betelgeuse is visible above them with the bright stars Capella and Procyon to the far left and right. As dawn broke the Moon and Venus were captured in a number of foreground illuminated garden settings with the sky changing color due to approaching sunrise. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in night scenery and sunset modes.
