Details:
On the night of August 9th, another comet appeared in the dust tail of Comet NEOWISE! My son exclaimed "It looks like NEOWISE is having a baby"! But he knew that this was actually Comet PANSTARRS (C/2017 T2) in the line-of-sight of NEOWISE giving us this wonderful opportunity to capture two beautiful comets at once, not to mention distant galaxies hiding in the comet's dust tail! These comets at the time were only 3 degrees apart in the sky although PANSTARRS is actually much farther away from us. Being only 18 degrees in elevation by the time clouds cleared in the west, I had to deal with processing through a yellow-red light pollution gradient as well as innumerable Starlink satellites (awful pre-processed image attached). As bad as these Starlink satellites are now, I realize that these are the good ole days compared to the future! Truly unfortunate! This image is a 20 minute LRGB (5 min per filter) with 100mm Vixen refractor and SBIG 11K CCD camera tracked on stars.
