Details:
Taken between 12:51AM to 4:18AM (12 August) after moon rise at 8000 feet altitude ~20 miles east of Ten Sleep, Wyoming in the Bighorn Mountains under Bortle 1 skies. This composite consists of 26 images. The brightest Perseid was about 0 magnitude looking west. During the 3.5 hours, the effect of the radiant shifting in the sky behind me had little effect on the meteors paths perpendicular to the horizon.
This year's shower produced lots of vivid green meteors with smoke trains. During the 20 minutes before this image I witnessed 3 fireballs ~ -4 magnitude but was aiming the camera in the opposite direction.
Post-processed in Photoshop. To learn more how to make an image like this see: youtu.be/cTMJHxYdS2g.
2nd image: Taken between 2:14AM to 4:20AM (13 August) after moon rise at 6000 feet altitude 30 miles west of Cody, Wyoming under excellent transparency between clouds. This composite consists of 7 images. The brightest Perseid was about 0 magnitude looking west.
It was interesting how these bright meteors followed nearly the same path, including an earlier fireball: www.flickr.com/photos/79387036@N07/50223626526/in/photost....
