Details:
I was on vacation last week in the Turks and Caicos islands when I noticed a difference in the usual cloud formation. Instead of the usual low lying cumulus rain clouds which happen frequently during the summer, there was a high level wispy cloud formation. These upper-level ice crystals are perfect for sun dog formation, which I noticed as soon as the lower level clouds parted. Also in a pic is a contrail from a jetliner headed to the Dominican Republic.
