Details:
Knowing that the hours just before sunrise are the best times to view the Perseid meteor shower, I usually awake early to view the meteors at this time. However, since many photographers have been posting photos taken after sunset, I decided to try my luck at that time. I began taking automatic photos with my remote shutter release at about 10:00PM. My memory card was full after 1/2 hour, in which time I viewed a beautiful meteor streak down by the Empire State Building , and a fireball showing up at the northwest. Both of these wonderful events were out of my camera's field-of-view, but I caught a small Perseid in the area of constellation Perseus. Details: Canon EOS REBEL T5i camera, 5s exposure, f/5.6, ISO 400, Canon EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lense set at 18mm, manual focus, remote shutter release, GITZO tripod.
