Mars is getting closer and bigger. This image shows the planet on August 3rd: Solis Lacus, or "the Eye of Mars" is well placed here. A brief spell of good seeing allowed for this good view of the planet. One hour earlier and another hour after this shot, the seeing was poor. Details on the image.
