Details:
My parting shot of Comet NEOWISE from Monday night, July 27, from the Columbia Icefields in Jasper National Park, Alberta, on a rare very clear night here. The comet is at far right down the valley; the Milky Way is at left over Mount Andromeda. The waxing quarter Moon has just disappeared behind Snowdome at centre but is still lighting the peaks in a lunar alpenglow, a planned bit of timing. The famous Athabasca Glacier is at centre. This is a panorama of 17 segments, with a 35mm lens and 20-second exposures.
