Details:
This comet is something else, I have been so driven to image it I have literally driven 1000's of kms to image it. This is due partially to where I live Calgary, Alberta, and due to weather conditions. Tonight was no different drive 240 kms south to get to clear skies, passing through an incredible thunderstorm, I get to Stavely Alberta, drive West from there to get to higher ground and to a Bortle 2 sky. I grab a couple of images of the comet and the thunderhead, and arrive and set up. The comet is visible naked eye, barely and I get started imaging it. About 0800 hrs UTC, the comet started to disappear odd I thought if anything it should be getting brighter, ah well carry on I think. It was only when I was processing the images did I realize that the comet was disappearing because of air glow, and air glow so thick that it dimmed the comet! The air glow was so green that you can mistake it for the aurora!
