Details:
Despite having a cold front with attendant thunderstorms moving through the area during the day, it looked like the clouds might clear in the evening. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and the bank of clouds moved south to north, thus passing in front of the comet during the entire half hour I was shooting photos. Had they moved east to west, a nice clear patch of sky would have cross the comet. The attached photo was fairly early after sunset, but was the best of more than 150 photos that I took, trying for a "lucky shot" since I was never able to see the comet with my naked eyes through the cloud cover. I used a Nikon D5600 camera with a 55-300 mm zoom lens set to 55 mm, manual focus, ISO automatically set to 4500, and a 3 second exposure.
