Details:
The tail was clearly visible in the moderately dark skies northwest of Sacramento. I was only a baby when my dad took me out on our deck to see Hale-Bopp, and I saw McNaught and Holmes' outburst only through binoculars, so this is the first comet I can remember seeing with the naked eye. Trying to shoot the reflection through the fence sort of reminded me of the pandemic... the world is scary right now, but there are hopefully better things beyond, and it is important to keep our sights on them. Details: shot with a Canon Rebel T3i and 18-135mm lens. Fenced reflection: f/4.5 and 30s. Stargazer silhouette: f/4 and 8s.
