1. Tech Specs: Nikon d7100, Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 @ f/2, iso 3200, exp 10s, raw, no tracking. F.O.V. 25Hx37W degrees.
Despite extensive clouds, this break revealed a beautiful comet with a tail structure extending at least 16 degrees.
2.Tech Specs: Nikon d3500, Nikkor 85mm f/1.4 @ f/2, iso 1600, exp 12x20s, raw, Astrotrac EQ Mount, PixInsight, Lightroom, Photoshop.
Interesting to note that in this 15.7hx10.5w degree F.O.V., the comet's length was at least 10 degrees. The blues end of the golden dust tail also exhibited a bluish color, perhaps suggesting a mixed of another ion tail.
3. This image shows what PixInsight's Dynamic Background Extractor does to an image. The amazing detail is brought out by balancing the background light such as caused by light pollution, breaking twilight, or in this case haziness and high clouds.
Tech specs: Nikon d3500, Nikkor 180mm, f/2.8 @ f/2.8, iso 1600, stacked 23x20s raw, post-processed in PixInsight, Lightroom and Photoshop. Taken between 10:55PM to 11:11 MDT.
F.O.V. is ~7x5 degrees. Comet's tail stretched greater than 6 degrees in this uncropped image. The dust tail has also formed a wide v-wedge with several distinctive bands.
