Details:
Comet NEOWISE has a second dim tail made of ionized gas. I tried to capture it in the morning 10 July, using the benefits of longer exposures and relatively dark skies. It seems I succeeded! I started to capture frames when the comet nucleus was behind the mountain. However, the comet’s bright dust tail was already visible even with unaided eye and especially spectacular through 8x40 mm binoculars. It looked if somebody turned on a flashlight on the mountain slope. After few minutes, bright nucleus appeared. Stunning view!
Image taken with Canon 6D and Sigma 24-105 mm f/4 lens, tracked on iOptron SkyTracker. 71x10 s exposures stacked and processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop.
