Details:
After a long drought of naked eye comets this is a very welcome sight. And now that it is visible in the evening as well as morning is even better, although I think it does look better in the morning sky. These images are from the evening of the 10th through to this morning. The morning showing was made better by a fantastic display of Noctilucent cloud, I was hoping to get a similar image to the amazing ones posted in the Spaceweather galley over the recent days, but unfortunately the main display was further to the NNW and also lower than the comet. I also forgot to bring my wide angle lens so could not even get a wide field view showing the full extent of the NLC with the comet. However there was a fainter small patch of NLC below the comet so whilst my image is not as dramatic as wished, I am happy to have a photo of the comet with some NLC. Maybe tonight ot tomorrow morning I will get "that" photo!
