Details:
Mike Larkin and I went out to a rural site near Waverly, Missouri, yesterday to see Comet SWAN F8, but were thwarted by a lot of smoky haze up to about 10 degrees. The comet has faded in the last few days, and hopefully this will not be its SWAN song. We did, however, enjoy the conjunction! The second image picked up Elnath (Beta Tauri) to the upper right of Mercury, while the moon was disappearing into the muck. Canon Rebel XTi with an 85mm NIKKOR lens @ f/2.8.
