Details:
Here is an animated GIF and a composite which is a combination of four 6-image mosaics showing Venus and Mercury setting from the 18th until they paired on the 21st. The two planets set a few minutes earlier each day as Mercury rose rapidly towards Venus and Venus moved a little lower in the evening sky. This caused the average brightness of each six frame group to increase. The presence of the sunset illuminated cloud band on the 18th was an unexpected bonus which adds beauty to the images taken on that day. Camera: Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in night scenery mode.
