Details:
The skies were busy last night. The Lyrids meteor shower peaked as Earth passed through a trail of debris left behind by comet Thatcher. Some of this debris entered Earth's atmosphere and burned as vibrantly coloured meteors. Adding some extra green to the scene was a brief auroral show sparked by the leftovers of a coronal mass ejection, a burst of plasma and magnetic field from the Sun.
