Well, happy birthday to me! The evening didn't start really well, with a thick cloud cover, but after 10 PM it started clearing and by 11 PM, contrary to the weather forecast, there wasn't a single cloud in the sky anymore. I like it so much when we have such a good surprise weather-wise. The aurora was already high and bright when the clouds lifted, and similarly to last Friday night, it just stayed there for most of the time. And when I thought it was gone, it was actually the southern horizon that was glowing green, letting me believe that the folks down south had a nice show too! We had many coronas tonight, some "pulsating" quite fast, and at some point, I really didn't know anymore in which direction to look! Again, this is all a confirmation of the special Auroras that we get around the equinox. Year after year, this time in March is just my favourite! And at midnight, I turned 38, so I had my own socially-distanced celebration with some light-painting. That's not a bad way to celebrate one's birthday, even though gathering with friends is not possible due to the confinement requirements set by the Government. What a night again in Utsjoki!
