Details:
I've observed the moon quite often through my telescopes and photographed it in the new moon waxing crescent phase an evening dusk skies, and the old moon in the waning crescent phase before morning sunrise. I photograph the Moon rising a few years ago in downtown Portland looking due East Northeast. Yet I took this larger image of the Moon through my Celestron cassegrain telescope with the Sony NEX mirrorless camera attached directly through has the telescope becomes ineffective 1250mm telephoto lens, with a separate exposure to reveal the earthshine, composited and layer together with the brighter sunlit Crescent edge.
