Details:
Mutare has been experiencing a premature decline in the rainy season in March with clear skies around sunset on many days. The accompanying mosaic, prepared from nine pictures taken at the same time (6.27 pm) and from the same viewpoint each day (from 7-15th), shows sharp changes between two periods with spectacular post sunset twilight arches and/or crepuscular rays and one which lasted four days in which there were no colourful displays. This is believed to be due to the coming and going of patches of either volcanic or forest fire derived aerosols which circulate on the stratospheric airflow around the Earth. Camera: Hand-held Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 in sunset mode
